Patrizia Sabucco has had a passion and a knack for pottery for many years. She started her “artistic adventure” attending the “Giovanni da Udine” school. Later she has improved her technique and style learning by the famous pottery masters in Faenza, Deruta and Certaldo.
Her favourite techniques are the Raku fumed and maiolica ceramics. The Raku pieces undergo a unique firing process, first initiated in Japan. The ceramic pieces are removed from the kiln when the temperature reaches 930C° and then placed for example in sawdust, where there is no oxygen and this creates some very peculiar colours and reflexes. The method of maiolica, the classic tin-glazed earthenware, creates a colour overlay that make some very particular effects.
